Meet Dr. Janelle Holden
Dr. Holden is Manhattan Beach's only Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also one of the few that has earned her trifecta degrees from The University of Southern California. She completed her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from USC. After practicing for 4 years for a pediatric dentist, she decided she was going to follow her dream and become a pediatric dentist. She graduated with high honors in the top of her class from USC School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society. She was the chief resident at her hospital residency, which included Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, and completed her residency with a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Society of Dentistry for Children, The California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, The California Dental Association, The American Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the USC Pediatric Dental Alumni Association. She has been also been selected as a Top Dentist by her peers. She is the only pediatric dentist in Manhattan Beach to be on staff at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and on the board of Harbor Regional Center. Dr. Holden has created a practice that provides high-end, non-invasive pediatric dentistry with the latest in technology, with an emphasis on dental health wellness and minimally non-invasive options where your child can grow with our practice from infants to young adults.
Dr. Holden has two wonderful sons and her youngest has special needs. She knows first hand how to treat children with medical conditions, special needs, Autism, ADHD, and sensory sensitivities, with ABA and behavior techniques, and has a well-trained staff to help care for your child. As a mom and pediatric dentist, she created her own line toothpaste your children will love brushing their teeth with: Tanner's Tasty Paste. It has touched many children who are sensitive to tastes and textures, have food allergies, or parents who just want to use a clean and healthy toothpaste for their child.
Dr. Holden was also the inspiration for Barbie Dentist! Mattel launched the first Barbie dentist after collaborating together. They relaunched it again 10 years later, after their team visited her office for the design to create the Barbie dentist your children can play with now. Dr. Holden wanted a Barbie that children could play with dental tools to get comfortable in her pediatric dental office, as well as a role model to little girls to inspire a career in dentistry.
Dr. Holden is a familiar face within the community. She is a sponsor for many of the local events, preschools, and schools. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, walks on the strand, traveling, and attending USC football games! Fight On!
